Job summary

InterContinental Wellington is seeking a Duty Engineer to support the Maintenance team in our luxury hotel on Wellington's waterfront. You will assist with general hotel and building minor maintenance and ensure work meets high standards to satisfy guests.

Applicants should have general maintenance experience, strong problem solving and communication skills, and be flexible to rotating shifts including weekends. Training is provided and staff benefits apply.

Duty Engineer

Assist the Maintenance team with general hotel and building minor maintenance and ensure that work is completed to a high standard that aligns with the expectations and satisfaction of our customers.

• Carry out scheduled inspections
• General building minor maintenance repairs
• Respond to requests from departments throughout the day
• General building maintenance & repairs
• Investigate equipment for faults

What You'll Need

• General maintenance experience
• Problem solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational and training abilities
• Strong communication skills! You will be building working relationships with people across the hotel team and interacting with guests
• Flexibility - you are required to be available for rotating shifts, including weekends.
