Job summary

Alignerr is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer (AI Data Trainer) to create training data that teaches AI models to plan, reason, and act in real-world tasks. This is a fully remote hourly contract with flexible hours (10–40 hours per week) designed for self-motivated, detail-oriented professionals.

You will document structured reasoning traces, capture tool use, and evaluate decision-making to help AI systems improve reliability and safety.

Qualifications

• Background inMachine Learning, Computer Science, or a closely related technical field.
• Ability to articulate complex reasoning clearly in writing.
• Analytically sharp and able to evaluate multi-step problems.
• Detail-oriented and methodical in structured tasks.
• Self-motivated and reliable when working independently.

Responsibilities

• Author detailed, structured reasoning traces that document how an expert would approach and solve complex technical tasks
• Capture step-by-step planning, tool use, and decision-making in a clear, reproducible format
• Produce high-quality training data that teaches LLMs to reason reliably in real-world scenarios
• Evaluate and refine AI decision-making workflows for logical consistency and accuracy
• Work independently and asynchronously — fully on your own schedule
