Job summary

Alignerr seeks a Mechanical Engineering Expert (AI Training) to apply expertise in solid mechanics, CFD, and thermodynamics to stress-test AI models. Work remotely on a flexible schedule, collaborating with world-leading AI labs to craft domain-specific problems and rigorous ground-truth solutions.

You will audit AI reasoning, identify failures, and provide feedback, ensuring accuracy and safety under ASME/ISO standards. Masters/PhD preferred; SolidWorks, MATLAB, ANSYS familiarity is expected.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering.
• Strong foundation in solid mechanics, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, CAD/CAM, or manufacturing processes.
• Able to communicate complex technical concepts clearly in written form.
• Highly detail-oriented — meticulous with derivations, units and constraints.
• No prior AI experience required.

Responsibilities

• Design Advanced Engineering Problems - Craft challenging, domain-specific problems across FEA, heat transfer, kinematics, material science, and mechatronics to stress-test AI performance
• Author Ground-Truth Solutions - Develop rigorous, step-by-step technical solutions that serve as benchmarks for AI learning and evaluation
• Audit AI Technical Reasoning - Review AI-generated CAD logic, thermodynamic proofs, and material specifications for accuracy, safety, and compliance with standards like ASME and ISO
• Identify and Fix Reasoning Failures - Spot logical errors such as incorrect force distributions or energy conservation violations, and provide structured feedback to improve model reasoning
• Work Independently and Asynchronously - Manage your own workload and contribute on a schedule that suits you
