Job summary

Alignerr is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to shape how advanced AI systems think and decide. You will author structured reasoning traces, design step-by-step problem solving for LLMs, and assess traces for quality and training value in a fully remote freelance role.

You will work independently, harnessing deep ML expertise to improve model reasoning and data strategies, with flexibility across 10–40 hours per week and ongoing project opportunities.

Qualifications

• Deep experience in machine learning, AI research, or a closely related technical field with a focus on model reasoning.
• Proven ability to decompose complex problems into clear, logical steps.
• Experience with LLM evaluation, fine-tuning, or training methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Author complex, high-fidelity reasoning traces for ML and technical tasks.
• Design and document step-by-step problem-solving strategies for LLMs.
• Review and quality-check traces for clarity, depth, and training usefulness.
• Apply senior-level architectural insight to improve AI model reasoning.
