Job summary

Alignerr invites environmental engineers to join a remote hourly contract role focused on training AI systems to reason about water treatment, air quality, and remediation. You’ll design complex problems and craft ground-truth solutions to benchmark AI performance.

You'll audit AI outputs for regulatory compliance (EPA, ISO 14001) and improve model reasoning with structured feedback, while enjoying flexible hours and independent work.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or holding a Master’s or PhD in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering (environmental focus), or a closely related discipline.
• Strong knowledge in aquatic chemistry, wastewater process design, air quality engineering, or hazardous waste remediation.
• Able to clearly communicate complex technical and ecological concepts in writing.
• Meticulous about unit conversions and regulatory logic.

Responsibilities

• Design advanced environmental engineering challenges across multiple domains.
• Develop rigorous step-by-step reference solutions for AI evaluation.
• Audit AI outputs for technical accuracy, safety, and compliance.
• Identify AI model failures and provide corrective feedback.
• Work asynchronously and independently.
