Job summary
OJI Fibre Solutions in Levin, NZ, is seeking a Reliability Engineer to lead the site's maintenance program, improving plant reliability and reducing downtime. You will drive predictive and preventive maintenance strategies, coach teams, and work closely with production to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
The role requires strong knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics, experience with RCA, and a solid health and safety mindset.
Qualifications
- 3 years + experience working in a Reliability Engineering role, with proven successfully delivered projects.
- Experience managing and improving machinery reliability in a modern high-speed manufacturing environment
- Experience in pneumatics, hydraulic systems with a working knowledge of engineering methods
- Strong health and safety culture including knowledge of permit to work systems, LOTO and machine guarding
- Comfortable running RCA workshops with a cross functional team to deliver up results
- Formal training in Lean principles advantageous
- RCA Best Practice knowledge
- Total Preventative Maintenance experience
- Experience using a CMMS system (MEX,SAP etc)
- Computer literate in Word, Excel and Powerpoint
Responsibilities
- Improve plant reliability by reviewing current results and ensuring correct execution of preventative and predictive maintenance schedules
- Reduce or eliminate unplanned downtime, decrease recovery time and extend equipment life through reliability centred maintenance
- Resolve major breakdowns and roadblocks to productivity using RCA and other collaborative problem-solving techniques
- Adopt and teach Reliability techniques to maintenance and production staff
- Focus on continuous improvement with the maintenance team to design and implement improvements to equipment and processes
- Identify and deal with barriers to improving engineering performance
- Manage effective relationships with suppliers and contractors
- Support Health & Safety culture within the team
