Job summary

Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to develop and continuously improve the Regulatory Practice Framework. You will translate regulatory expectations into practical guidance, tools and resources to lift regulatory capability across the organisation.

You will lead analysis, collaborate with regulatory practitioners and stakeholders, and drive adoption of best practices to deliver consistent, user-focused regulatory outcomes in New Zealand.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical thinking and problem solving with documentation and process design experience.
• Ability to identify, document and prioritise business requirements effectively.
• Ensure outputs are delivered in a timely, clear and accurate manner.
• Experience collaborating across technical, operational and business teams.
• Exceptional relationship and communications skills.
• Commitment to continuous improvement and learning.
• Knowledge of Te Ao Māori and Te Tiriti o Waitangi in the public sector.

Responsibilities

• Lead the analysis and improvement of regulatory processes, identifying risks and opportunities.
• Translate regulatory requirements into practical, process solutions.
• Develop evidence-based recommendations using qualitative and quantitative analysis.
• Support development of a fit-for-purpose process framework and continuous improvement pipeline.
• Assist or lead implementation of approved process improvements with stakeholder engagement.
