Job summary

NZ Transport Agency (NZTA) is offering multiple Compliance Officer opportunities across Aotearoa New Zealand, including Northland, Auckland, Hamilton and Tauranga. The role involves audits, data review, and reporting to support regulatory decisions. Travel across regions is required and a full NZ driver license is essential.

Salary range: $80,388–$89,320, with ongoing development. You will join an experienced team to develop regulatory capability and deliver risk-based compliance outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering audits and reviews using a risk-based approach to assess compliance.
• Ability to interpret legislation, policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Strong risk assessment skills with the ability to identify issues and recommend actions.
• Experience gathering, analysing, and documenting information to support audits and investigations.
• High attention to detail with strong documentation and record-keeping capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate audits and reviews of regulated parties under NZTA frameworks.
• Collect, analyse and evaluate information to identify non-compliance or risk.
• Prepare clear assessments and recommendations supported by evidence.
• Maintain accurate records aligned with legislative and privacy requirements.
