Job summary

NZ Transport Agency (NZTA) is seeking Compliance Officers nationwide to strengthen regulatory capability in the commercial transport sector. You will conduct audits and reviews, assess compliance, and make sound, risk-based decisions with clear assessments and reports for senior colleagues.

Travel across regions is a core part of the role, and applicants must hold a full NZ driver licence. A salary range of NZ$80,388–NZ$89,320 per year is offered, with opportunities for professional development

Qualifications

• Experience delivering audits and reviews using a risk-based approach to assess compliance.
• Ability to interpret and apply legislation, policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Strong risk assessment skills with the ability to identify compliance issues and recommend actions.
• Proven ability to gather, analyse, and document information to support audits and investigations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate audits and reviews of regulated parties under NZTA frameworks.
• Collect, analyse, and evaluate information from diverse sources to identify risks.
• Prepare clear, well-reasoned assessments, findings, and recommendations with evidence.
• Travel across regions to engage with operators as required.
