Job summary

The Doctors Medical Centres in New Zealand’s Northland region are seeking a registered nurse to join our general practice team. You will deliver patient care across primary care, support a multidisciplinary team and contribute to community health improvements.

This permanent part-time role (16 hours/week across 2 days) offers flexible hybrid work options, training and development opportunities, and a supportive work environment aligned with Treaty principles.

Qualifications

• Current NZ practising certificate with primary care experience (desirable).
• Competent in primary and secondary care nursing.
• Experienced in primary health or emergency care nursing.
• Practice aligns with the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in general practice and contribute to patient health outcomes.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care.
• Support triage, vaccinations, and preventive health services.
• Assist with health education and care planning with patients.

Nurses in General Practice enhance community health and equity, providing advanced care within multidisciplinary teams. This is an exciting opportunity for a registered nurse to join us at The Doctors Tui to contribute clinical excellence and community health improvement. You will work alongside skilled colleagues, supported by dedicated medical center leadership.

This is a permanent position working 16 hours per week across 2 days from Monday - Friday

Do you have what we are looking for?

• A current New Zealand practicing certificate with primary care experince (desirable)
• Competent in areas of nursing in either or both primary and secondary care
• Experienced primary health or emergency care nurse
• Your practice aligns with the principles of The Treaty of Waitangi.
• Willing to continually learn and improve
• Phone triage and or telehealth experience beneficial
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and able to build strong rapport with team members.
• You will ideally hold current CPR certificate
• Immunisation and smear taker certificates is desirable but not essential
