Job summary

Pathways Health Ltd in Auckland is seeking Registered Nurses for a new peer-led acute mental health and addiction service. Join a team delivering care in a community-based 12-bed setting, focusing on recovery and well-being.

You will use your nursing skills and lived experience to support Tangata Whai Ora on their journey, with shift patterns including early and late rotations. A permanent full-time role offering professional development and supervision.

Qualifications

  • Must have Nursing registration with a current practising certificate.
  • Comprehensive and/or psychiatric scope of practice.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Hold a full clean New Zealand driver’s licence.
  • Knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and meet tangata whai ora health and social care needs.
  • Develop care and support plans and assist with distress management.
  • Coordinate with community services and support re-engagement.
  • Conduct health assessments and health metric monitoring.
  • Support medication management and safety plans.

The Role | Mō tēnei tūranga mahi

Weare looking for a team of Registered Nurses to join a newly established Aucklandpeer-led acute service that offers an alternative to hospital admission forthose people experiencing acute mental distress. The service model isbased on a World Health Organisation recognised and regarded acute careservice.


You will need to havea scope of practice to work in mental health and utilise your clinical nursingskills to support our guests in their recovery. Lived experience ispreferred for these roles and peer allyship is essential.


These are permanent,full-time positions within a new, innovative service that is currently beingestablished. There are a range of different shift patterns to be filled.


Shifts:



  • Sunday – Thursday,7am – 3:30pm and 3pm – 11:30pm rotating weekly

  • Tuesday – Saturday, 7am – 3:30pm and 3pm – 11:30pm rotating weekly

  • Friday – Monday, 7am – 3:30pm and 3pm – 11:30pm rotating weekly


Youwill join a team of passionate peer support specialists and Registered Nurseswho walk alongside tangata whai ora to achieve wellbeing while working in ahomelike 12-bed community-based service. You will be reporting to the TeamCoach - Peer.


Youwill help identify and meet tangata whai ora individual health and social careneeds, develop care and support plans and assist them to manage distress, reconnectwith community services and take control of their wellbeing. You will also conductphysical health assessments and health metric monitoring, medication support, supportpeople with goal planning and with the formulation and implementation of riskand safety management plans. Professionaldevelopment and supervision support structures will be in place to help youpractice at your very best.


You’ll have:


  • Must have Nursing registration with a current practising certificate

  • Comprehensive and/or psychiatric scope, and the ability to work within the field of mental health.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral and excellent organisational skills

  • Hold a full clean New Zealand driver’s licence

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to learn new computer programmes and skills

  • Knowledge of, and demonstrable commitment to, the principles of the Te Tiriti o Waitangi
