Job summary

Waipā District Council in the Waikato region is seeking an Asset Information Team Leader to steer regional asset information practice and lead a specialist group across multiple councils. The role will shape how transport assets are managed in collaboration with Co-Lab and RATA, delivering guidance and oversight for RAMM/AWM data and related processes.

Based at the Co-Lab offices in Lakewood, Cambridge, the role is mobile and council-facing, with secondment to Co-Lab to drive the RATA programme.

Qualifications

• A tertiary qualification in Engineering or a related discipline.
• Significant experience (typically 10+ years) in transport asset information systems (AWM/RAMM) management and related processes.
• Exceptional leadership experience.
• Sound knowledge of NZ transport standards, regulations, and local government practices.
• Excellent relationship management skills, with the ability to build trust and collaborate across multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a team delivering RATA’s annual programme of activities.
• Provide technical advice, guidance, training and mentoring as the SME on AWM/RAMM.
• Lead initiatives to improve asset data quality, reliability and consistency.
• Build strong, high-trust relationships across multiple councils and stakeholders.
• Collaborate to share knowledge within the RATA team and across the Waikato region.
