Job summary

Southland District Council is seeking an experienced Asset Manager Reticulation to shape the future of water and wastewater networks in Southland. This role influences long-term investment decisions, drives asset performance, and ensures reliable, affordable services for communities across one of New Zealand's largest districts.

You will join a highly engaged team dedicated to serving communities, strengthening water capability, and delivering our Water Services Delivery Plan.

Qualifications

• Experience in asset management across water and wastewater networks.
• Strong ability to balance technical, financial, and community outcomes.
• Proven ability to translate data into actionable insights.

Responsibilities

• Leading lifecycle planning for water and wastewater reticulation assets.
• Developing renewal and capital investment programmes.
• Using asset data and performance insights to support decision-making.
• Identifying risks, opportunities, and future infrastructure needs.
• Providing specialist technical advice across the organisation.
• Supporting long-term asset management and infrastructure strategies.
• Building strong relationships with operational teams, contractors, consultants, and stakeholders.
