Job summary

Gentrack Ltd (Global) is seeking a Senior Director of Engineering to provide executive leadership across New Zealand and Melbourne hubs. You’ll report to the CTO and act as a regional technology voice, driving autonomous yet aligned execution within a unified engineering ecosystem.

The role focuses on AI-first development, empowering teams, and upskilling engineers while maintaining strong cross-border collaboration.

Qualifications

• 12 to 15 years of technology experience in enterprise SaaS or cloud-native software.
• Minimum 5+ years in senior engineering leadership (Director/Senior Director).
• Proven track record transforming large engineering organizations across multiple hubs.

Responsibilities

• Provide regional leadership across NZ and Australia hubs as CTO proxy.
• Champion AI-first engineering, upskilling teams and embedding AI-augmented workflows.
• Improve delivery velocity via modern processes, tooling, and cross-region alignment.
• Maintain architectural credibility and automated guardrails for AI-generated code.
• Support regional GTM and senior client engagements with technical leadership.
