McAlpine Hussmann is offering an apprenticeship in our Wellington Service branch, based in Petone. This full-time role is ideal for someone starting a rewarding trade and eager to learn from skilled technicians.

You will be supported through our Apprenticeship programme, with paid training and all costs covered. The successful candidate will gain hands-on experience in refrigeration and air conditioning, with opportunities for career progression.

Qualifications

• Requires NCEA Level 2 (Year 12) with subjects like English, Maths, Tech, Physics or Science.
• Basic mathematical and mechanical ability is essential.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Health and safety focus in a trade role.
• Full clean driver's license; restricted license considered.

Responsibilities

• Support Service Technicians and learn refrigeration and air conditioning trades.
• Attend apprenticeship training and complete qualifications on time.
• Work in a fast-paced team to deliver first-class service.
• Follow safety policies and site procedures.

About the role:

We have a vacancy available in our Wellington Service branch, based in Petone.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to start a great career in a rewarding trade.

We are looking for an enthusiastic team member who wants a hands-on trade and career opportunities.

If you are an easy-going, forward thinking person who enjoys a fast-paced environment, like working as part of a team to deliver first class service to our customers then we would love to hear from you.

This is a full-time role with a minimum 40 hours per week.

This role will have a start date of January or February 2027.

The key skills required for this role include:

• NCEA - Level 2 (Year 12); ideally English, Maths, Tech subjects, Physics or Science

• Basic mathematical and mechanical ability

• High standard of verbal and written communication

• Health and Safety focused

• Full clean driver's license (restricted license will also be considered)
