Job summary

Heartland is seeking a Reconciliations Analyst in New Zealand to manage daily reconciliations of inward and outward settlements and key control accounts. You will investigate discrepancies, escalate issues, and ensure accurate financial accounting to support reporting.

We expect 3+ years in reconciliation roles, strong Excel and data skills, and a solid understanding of accounting principles. Collaboration across Finance, Operations and Tech will be essential.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years' experience reconciling data in a high-volume environment.
• Solid understanding of accounting and banking principles.
• Experience reconciling complex accounts and large data sets.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced Excel, Power Query/Power Pivot or Power BI experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to work under deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily reconciliations of key control accounts and settlement activities.
• Allocate and manage relevant transactions from UPI queues.
• Investigate, analyse, and resolve reconciling items and variances.
• Escalate issues and potential risk exposures appropriately and in a timely manner.
• Prepare monthly reconciliations in accordance with Heartland's Reconciliation Policy.
• Maintain accurate documentation and supporting evidence for reconciliations.
• Monitor and clear outstanding reconciling items within agreed timeframes.
• Support projects and initiatives that impact reconciliation processes.
• Partner with teams across Finance, Operations, Retail, Collections, Asset Management, and Technology.
• Ensure all activities align with Heartland's values, compliance requirements, and customer-first approach.
