Job summary

Franklin Law in Pukekohe, New Zealand, is seeking a proactive receptionist to join our friendly team. As the first point of contact for clients, you will help create a positive and professional experience when visitors walk through our doors or contact our firm.

In this busy, varied role, you will manage a multi-line phone system, greet clients, coordinate mail, order supplies and support our legal and support teams to keep the office running smoothly.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a busy and varied role that is central to the smooth running of our office. As the first point of contact for our clients, you will play an important role in creating a positive and professional experience for everyone who walks through our doors or contacts our firm.

You will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where you will be responsible for:

  • Welcoming clients and visitors with a warm, professional approach
  • Managing a busy multi-line telephone system and directing enquiries efficiently
  • Coordinating incoming and outgoing mail and courier deliveries
  • Banking and other general administrative tasks
  • Ordering and maintaining stationery, office and kitchen supplies
  • Ensuring reception, meeting rooms and shared office areas are well presented at all times
  • Booking meeting rooms and assisting with client appointments
  • Providing administrative support to our legal and support teams as required
  • Helping ensure the office operates smoothly each day
ABOUT YOU

We’re looking for someone who enjoys being busy, takes pride in their work and genuinely enjoys helping people. We want to know that you live in Pukekohe or the wider Franklin region, as we really value local knowledge and community connections.

We are more interested in your capability, attitude and willingness to learn rather than whether you have worked in a law firm before. Ideally, you will have:

  • Proven experience in a busy reception role
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • The ability to confidently juggle multiple tasks while remaining calm under pressure
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • A positive, proactive attitude and willingness to help wherever needed
  • Confidence using the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Experience using office systems, databases, CRM platforms or practice management systems
  • A professional, empathetic and client-focused approach
  • A positive attitude and willingness to support a busy team
