Job summary

Fulton Hogan Nelson is seeking a qualified Quantity Surveyor to manage costs, prepare claims and forecast budgets for road maintenance projects.

You will work closely with project managers, prepare reports and KPI information, ensure contract compliance, and contribute to a collaborative team delivering essential infrastructure across the region.

Qualifications

• NZDE or QS qualification is required.
• Class 1 driver's licence required.
• Previous industry experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and standards.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Can-do attitude and willingness to engage.

Responsibilities

• Contract claims – ensuring accuracy and on time delivery.
• Prepare and submit reports including cost forecasting and monthly reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
• Work with project managers in preparation for contract claims, reports and KPI information required for the contract.
• Administer purchase order creation, receipting and tracking utilising JDE 9.2.
• Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with any specification or standard prepared for a particular job.
• Getting stuck in with the team to help with any other tasks that are required.

The Opportunity

A rare opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor to join us at Fulton Hogan Nelson. If you enjoy crunching numbers, reviewing costs and preparing claims to clients, this could be for you. You will be responsible for preparing and presenting claims and undertaking cost management including forecasting to ensure the project/s stay within budget, providing regular updates to the client.
