Job summary

Fitout Solutions Ltd is recruiting a Project Manager to lead fitout and commercial construction sites across Auckland and the wider region. You will report to the Construction Manager and oversee programmes, site communications, and cost control to ensure timely handovers.

The role requires 3+ years in project management within commercial fitouts or construction, with strong coordination and problem-solving abilities. Onsite leadership and interim reporting are key aspects of the job.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Writing construction programmes for fitout and retail projects.
• Producing weekly site reports to clients and Construction Manager.
• Value engineering and cost management across projects.
• Manage multiple projects concurrently with on-time handover.
• Onsite liaison with subcontractors and progress tracking.
• Approve invoicing in line with contract and payments.
• Pre-planning, H&S inspections, and QA compliance.
• Mentor junior staff and establish repeat business with clients.

Fitout Solutions Ltd – Auckland airport, North Island

The role as Project Manager will be located in Auckland on sites predominantly throughout Auckland & the wider region managing various retail & commercial fitout sites concurrently. The role as Project Manager will reporting directly into the Construction Manager.

Key responsibilities

Writing construction programmes

Weekly site reports sent to clients on a Thursday, CC in Construction Manager

Value engineering and cost management

Managing multiple projects concurrently

Keeping the Construction Manager across progress on projects, increased project cost or major programme delays

Onsite liaison with sub-contractors

Approves invoicing on time to accounts

Pre-planning

Health and Safety

Quality Assurance

Team player, shares knowledge with junior colleagues

Problem solving

Conflict management

Managing timelines effectively to ensure handover date is achieved

Manages variations through the project

Completes client invoices as per the contract payment clauses

Exceptional communication and relationship skills, demonstrating the ability to build rapport

IT experience / or willingness to learn internal software

Weekly toolbox talks

Weekly H&S inspections on sites

Show leadership on health and safety and completes site inspections on Junior PM sites

Shows leadership to junior staff with their development

Establishes repeat business with clients

About you

3+ years project managing

Experience in commercial shopfitting and/or main construction in running multiple projects $200k +

The ability to work well under pressure and in a high paced environment

Excellent problem solving skills and have the ability to think on your feet

Ability to communicate efficiently with all members of staff, clients and subtrades

Experience in using Project Management software

Relevant industry experience and have the right to live and work in New Zealand

Experience in commercial construction at senior management level preferred
