Job summary

Frequency, a New Zealand-owned specialist project advisory consultancy, is seeking an Intermediate Project Manager to join our Dunedin team. You will deliver Buildings and Infrastructure projects, including design, procurement, and contract management, working with senior managers and clients to keep projects on track.

You’ll manage day-to-day delivery on smaller work packages and contribute to larger projects, developing consulting skills and stepping into more senior roles as you grow.

Qualifications

• Circa 3–5 years of project management experience in New Zealand.
• Relevant tertiary industry qualifications.
• Experience working on building-related and/or infrastructure projects.
• Growing experience across design, procurement, and contract management phases.
• Demonstrated ability to manage projects within clearly defined scopes to achievable schedules and budgets.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Practical, solutions-focused mindset with proactive risk identification.
• Genuine appetite to learn and continue developing your career.
• Enjoys working with people and building relationships through project teams and clients.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day delivery of projects and work packages to meet client needs, scope, budget and programme.
• Support development of Project Management Plans aligned with client needs and objectives.
• Assist with identification, management and mitigation of project risks and issues.
• Support procurement processes and contract administration, including exposure to NZS3910 and/or NZS3916 contracts.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants and contractors to keep projects on track.
• Prepare project reporting, track budgets, and monitor performance against programme.
• Build strong working relationships with clients and project teams.
• Work closely with senior project managers, taking on increasing ownership as experience grows.
