Job description

Jora New Zealand will close on 9th September 2026. Thank you for being with us, we are cheering you on as you continue your career journey.

For more than 65 years, we’ve been keeping New Zealanders and their businesses safe, connected and ready for the future. We operate across New Zealand, Australia and the Pacific, delivering mission‑critical technology spanning cloud, cyber security, broadcasting, maritime communications and critical communications infrastructure. Backed by a team of 450+ experts, we’re trusted by some of New Zealand’s largest organisations to protect what matters most.

Kordia is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Field Solutions team, delivering telecommunications and critical infrastructure projects across New Zealand.

This is a hands‑on project delivery role where you’ll take ownership of projects from initiation and planning through to successful completion. You’ll manage scope, programme, budgets, resources, risks and commercial outcomes, while coordinating technical teams, contractors, suppliers and customers to keep delivery on track.
Working across a diverse portfolio of engineering and infrastructure projects, you’ll operate in an environment where safety, quality and strong commercial management are critical. You’ll also work closely with technical specialists to ensure projects are practical, well planned and delivered to Kordia’s high standards.

Ko tō mahi – What You’ll Do

Lead telecommunications and infrastructure projects from initiation through to completion

Develop and manage project plans, programmes, budgets, resources and delivery milestones

Manage project financial performance, including CAPEX/OPEX and project budgets

Identify and proactively manage project risks, issues, dependencies and changes

Coordinate internal technical teams, subcontractors, suppliers and other project resources

Manage contractual requirements and maintain strong project governance, documentation and reporting

Build strong relationships with customers and stakeholders, providing clear and proactive communication throughout delivery

Monitor project performance against agreed KPIs, timelines, cost, quality and customer outcomes

Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with Kordia’s quality, health and safety requirements and ISO 9001 standards

The role has a strong focus on delivering projects safely, on time, within scope and budget, while maintaining a clear “no surprises” approach with stakeholders.

You’ll be an experienced Project Manager who is comfortable operating in a technical, engineering or infrastructure environment and taking accountability for delivery and commercial outcomes.
You will also bring:

Around 3+ years project management experience, ideally within telecommunications, broadcasting, engineering, infrastructure, technology or a related industry

Strong understanding of telecommunications or network infrastructure, such as towers, antenna systems, power systems and data centres

Experience managing complex engineering or infrastructure projects

Strong commercial and financial capability, including project budgets, CAPEX/OPEX and cost management

Experience working with contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and technical teams

Strong risk management, problem‑solving and stakeholder management capability

Confidence working with project programmes, critical paths, resourcing and delivery dependencies

A relevant project management qualification or certification such as PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent

Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively across customers, technical teams and senior stakeholders.

This is an opportunity to work on projects that have a tangible impact on New Zealand’s critical communications infrastructure. You’ll have real ownership of your projects and work alongside engineers, field teams and technical specialists with deep expertise in telecommunications infrastructure.

  • We offer a competitive salary, matched superannuation up to 5%, insurance benefits and additional leave entitlements.

This is a full‑time, permanent position. As our projects are delivered across New Zealand, we are open to considering applicants from across the country.
