Job summary

Downer in Auckland is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead electricity projects on Vector networks from planning through to completion. You will coordinate resources, manage budgets, and build trusted relationships with Vector and delivery partners.

The role requires a commercially focused PM with strong safety standards, design knowledge and experience managing multidisciplinary teams. Based in Wiri, it offers a stable environment within a leading infrastructure provider.

Qualifications

  • Proven project management experience, ideally within electricity, utilities or infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of engineering design, construction and network operating standards.
  • Strong commercial acumen, including project budgeting, forecasting and cost control.
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams, contractors and delivery partners.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including MS Project.

Responsibilities

  • Lead electricity projects from planning and design through to construction and completion.
  • Coordinating people, contractors and resources to meet project plans and customer commitments.
  • Managing project budgets, expenditure, revenue, forecasting and timely invoicing.
  • Building strong relationships with Vector, delivery teams, consultants and local authorities.
  • Monitoring project performance, resolving delivery risks and providing accurate reporting.
  • Championing Zero Harm and ensuring work meets contract, quality, regulatory and network standards.

We have an opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to join our Wiri-based Auckland electricity team, supporting the delivery of projects across the Vector network.

You'll manage assigned projects from planning through to completion, ensuring they are delivered safely, to specification, on time and within budget. You'll coordinate resources, manage commercial performance and build trusted relationships with Vector and key delivery partners.
