Job summary

Beca Limited in South Auckland is seeking a Senior Project Engineer (Mechanical) to lead capital projects, equipment upgrades and reliability initiatives in a large heavy manufacturing environment. You will manage scope, budget and safety while coordinating vendors and contractors to deliver projects from concept to commissioning.

You will work closely with operations and maintenance teams to integrate new equipment into existing plant infrastructure, ensuring safe installation and operational

Qualifications

• Mechanical Engineering qualification and experience delivering capital projects within heavy industrial or manufacturing environments.
• Strong project management, stakeholder engagement and contractor management skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Experience managing brownfield installations with a focus on health, safety and operational risk management.

Te whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

We're looking for a Senior Project Engineer (Mechanical) to join our Industrial team and deliver projects within one of New Zealand's largest and most complex heavy manufacturing environments. Based in South Auckland, you'll lead capital projects and equipment upgrades that improve plant performance, safety and operational reliability. In this role, you'll lead projects through the full lifecycle, from concept development and equipment specification through to procurement, installation and commissioning. Working closely with stakeholders, contractors, suppliers and operational teams, you'll deliver practical engineering solutions that improve plant performance and operational effectiveness. You'll contribute to a diverse portfolio of capital, reliability, maintenance, safety and operational improvement initiatives. Working within one of Aotearoa's largest and most complex industrial manufacturing facilities, you'll work with advanced manufacturing technologies, large-scale mechanical systems and critical production assets that support one of New Zealand's most significant industrial operations.
