Job summary

Beca in Timaru is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join the Industrial team, delivering sustaining capital and improvement projects across food & beverage, manufacturing and heavy industry. You will manage projects end to end with autonomy and work closely with clients to build trusted relationships.

You’ll have a tertiary qualification in Mechanical, Electrical or Process Engineering and 10+ years’ industrial brownfield experience, with ability to work independently in a regional

Qualifications

• 10+ years of industrial brownfield or operational experience.
• Experience managing scope, programme, cost and risk.
• Ability to work independently in a regional delivery environment.
• Client-focused mindset with strong problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver sustaining capital projects such as equipment replacements, safety upgrades, reliability improvements and compliance works.
• Support major capital projects as they arise.
• Manage projects end to end, from scope and planning through to delivery - working alongside client teams with support from Beca's wider national capability.
• Build strong, trusted client relationships through consistent, high-quality delivery.
• Work confidently and independently in a site based delivery environment, partnering with operational teams and key stakeholders.

You'll play a key role delivering sustaining capital and improvement projects across sectors such as food and beverage, manufacturing, and heavy industry. • Bring a tertiary qualification in Mechanical, Electrical or Process Engineering
• 10+ years experience ideally within industrial brownfield or operational environments
• Experience managing projects, including scope, programme, cost and risk
• The ability to work independently in a regional delivery environment
• A client-focused, practical mindset, with strong problem-solving skills
