Job summary

Beca is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Industrial team in Tauranga, with applications across Aotearoa. You will deliver mechanical and piping solutions for diverse industrial projects, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to achieve successful outcomes.

Expect to lead design work packages, manage scope, cost, quality and schedule, and work across office and site-based environments on large projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in industrial mechanical engineering.
• Experience delivering detailed mechanical designs in heavy industrial or processing environments.
• Understanding of site-based construction practices and operational requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical and piping design work packages, including specification and integration of equipment for production, utilities, energy, water and waste systems on large industrial sites.
• Deliver project engineering responsibilities across office and site-based environments, managing scope, cost, quality and schedule.
• Work with site-based engineering and construction teams to deliver industrial capital projects.
• Develop and document mechanical engineering solutions aligned to project and operational requirements across industrial facilities.

Beca is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Industrial team. While Tauranga is the preferred location for this role, we welcome applications from candidates across Aotearoa.

In this role, you will deliver mechanical and piping engineering solutions for industrial projects across a range of sectors, including food and beverage manufacturing, minerals and metals processing, wood and fibre, energy, and water treatment. You will play a key role in the delivery of complex projects, working closely with multidisciplinary teams and clients to achieve successful outcomes.

• Lead mechanical and piping design work packages, including specification and integration of equipment for production, utilities, energy, water and waste systems on large industrial sites
• Deliver project engineering responsibilities across office and site-based environments, managing scope, cost, quality and schedule
• Work with site-based engineering and construction teams to deliver industrial capital projects
• Develop and document mechanical engineering solutions aligned to project and operational requirements across industrial facilities

You are a qualified and experienced Mechanical Engineer with a passion for project delivery and practical problem-solving in industrial environments.

To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Have

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in industrial mechanical engineering
• Experience delivering detailed mechanical designs solutions within heavy industrial or processing environments
• Understanding of site-based construction practices and operational requirements
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects with differing timelines and deliverables
• A collaborative mind-set and a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes within a team environment.
