Job summary

Beca in Invercargill is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our Industrial team, delivering sustaining capital and regional industrial projects with end-to-end ownership. You’ll work on site alongside Southland-based clients in dairy and heavy industries, manage scope, schedule, cost and risk, and lead delivery with autonomy and hands-on practicality.

Qualifications

• 8+ years’ experience ideally within industrial brownfield or operational environments.
• Experience managing projects up to $5 million, including scope, programme, cost and risk.
• The ability to work independently in a regional delivery environment and maintain client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Deliver sustaining capital projects (equipment replacements, safety upgrades, reliability improvements, compliance works).
• Support major capital projects as they arise.
• Manage projects end to end from scope and planning through to delivery with client teams and national support.
• Build strong, trusted client relationships through consistent, high-quality delivery.
• Work confidently in a site-based delivery environment with operational teams and stakeholders.

We’re looking for an experienced Project Engineer to join our Industrial team, supporting a growing and long-term portfolio of regional industrial work in Invercargill. This is a site‑based delivery role offering real responsibility, strong client exposure and the backing of Beca’s wider national capability. You’ll work closely with key Southland‑based clients across the dairy and heavy industries, delivering a mix of sustaining capital and larger regional industrial projects. This is a fantastic opportunity to broaden your project delivery experience and lead work in a highly visible regional environment with genuine end‑to‑end ownership and autonomy.

• Delivering sustaining capital projects such as equipment replacements, safety upgrades, reliability improvements and compliance works
• Supporting major capital projects as they arise
• Managing projects end to end, from scope and planning through to delivery - working alongside client teams with support from Beca’s wider national capability
• Building strong, trusted client relationships through consistent, high-quality delivery
• Working confidently and independently in a site based delivery environment, partnering with operational teams and key stakeholders, drawing on national project support where needed
