Job summary

Franklin Smith Group in Christchurch, New Zealand is seeking a Project Engineer to join our team. This role covers the full construction process from design coordination through to project delivery, working with designers, clients, PMs, site teams and subcontractors.

You'll be involved from early stages of a project, with responsibilities across design, ECI, estimating, and procurement, and travel to sites across New Zealand.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Project Engineer or similar within New Zealand construction.
• Experience with water and/or wastewater treatment plants.
• Strong understanding of the construction process from design and ECI through to delivery.
• Experience with estimating, tendering or pricing.
• Strong technical and commercial understanding.
• Willingness to travel when required.

Franklin Smith Group – Christchurch, South Island

I’m working with an established contractor specialising in water and wastewater treatment projects across New Zealand, who is looking for a Project Engineer to join their team. This is an established role covering the full construction process — from design coordination and ECI, through estimation and bidding, right through to project delivery. You’ll work closely with designers, clients, Project Managers, site teams and subcontractors, giving you genuine involvement from the early stages of a project through to completion.

About you

• Experience as a Project Engineer or similar within New Zealand construction

• Strong technical and commercial understanding


• Qualification in Mechanical or Proccess engineering an advantage


• Confident working across design, commercial and site environments


• Willingness to travel when required
