RESTATE New Zealand is seeking an experienced Project Coordinator in our Restoration Services division to coordinate and deliver restoration projects from allocation to completion. The role blends hands‑on restoration work with client communication and day‑to‑day supervision of staff, and requires travel between regions.

You will coordinate resources, maintain documentation, monitor costs and progress, and ensure health and safety standards are followed.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of relevant work experience in restoration, construction, facilities, remediation or related operations.
  • Proven ability to coordinate projects, work programmes, people, documentation and client communication with accuracy.
  • Strong organisation, prioritisation and stakeholder communication skills.
  • Experience providing day‑to‑day technical guidance or supervision to staff or trainees.
  • Competence using digital job management, reporting, health and safety and customer relationship systems.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare quotations, job records, project documentation, variation requests and invoicing information.
  • Plan and coordinate labour, equipment, materials, subcontractors and work sequencing.
  • Monitor project progress, job costs and expenditure.
  • Identify delays, scope changes, quality concerns and other project risks.
  • Maintain accurate and timely project records.
  • Coordinate quality checks, final inspections, client handover and project close‑out.
  • Maintain professional communication with clients and stakeholders.
  • Undertake specialist restoration work when required and supervise technicians and trainees.

RESTATE New Zealand is looking for an experienced Project Coordinator in our Restoration Services division to coordinate and deliver restoration projects from initial allocation through to completion. This is a hands‑on role combining project coordination with specialist restoration work, client communication and day‑to‑day guidance of operational staff. This is a permanent, full‑time position primarily based in Christchurch, with occasional work required in Auckland. Applicants must be able to travel between regions.

About the Role

In this position, you will coordinate assigned restoration projects from initial allocation through to completion, working within approved scope and delegated authority.

You will coordinate people, equipment, materials and subcontractors, maintain project documentation, communicate with clients and other stakeholders, monitor project progress and costs, and help ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to RESTATE's quality standards.

This is not purely an office‑based role. You will also undertake specialist restoration work when required and provide practical guidance and supervision to technicians and trainees.

Key Responsibilities
Project Coordination & Administration
  • Coordinate assigned restoration projects from initial allocation through to completion
  • Review project scopes, site information, estimates and work requirements
  • Prepare quotations, job records, project documentation, variation requests, progress claims and invoicing information
  • Plan and coordinate labour, equipment, materials, subcontractors and work sequencing
  • Monitor project progress, job costs and expenditure
  • Identify delays, scope changes, quality concerns and other project risks
  • Maintain accurate and timely project records
  • Coordinate quality checks, final inspections, client handover and project close‑out
  • Maintain professional communication with clients & stakeholders
Site & Team Coordination
  • Conduct site visits, assessments, inspections, measurements and scoping activities.
  • Provide day‑to‑day work direction, technical guidance and supervision to technicians and trainees
  • Support practical training and development for technicians and trainees
  • Administer and monitor health and safety requirements
  • Assist with day‑to‑day branch coordination
You will also undertake specialist restoration work when required, including:
  • Water and flood restoration
  • Fire, smoke and odour restoration
  • Mould and indoor air quality remediation
  • Biohazard, trauma and crime scene decontamination
  • Sewage and contaminated liquid decontamination
  • Bacteria and virus decontamination
  • Carpet cleaning, repair and replacement
  • Property assessments, inspections and reporting
  • Demolition, sanding, stripping and media blasting
Skills & Experience

You will need:

  • A minimum of 3 years' relevant work experience
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating projects, work programmes, people, documentation and client communication in restoration, construction, facilities, remediation or a related operational environment
  • Ability to prepare clear scopes, quotations, reports, project records and cost information and monitor work against approved requirements
  • Strong organisation, prioritisation, problem‑solving and stakeholder communication skills
  • Experience providing day‑to‑day technical guidance or supervision to staff or trainees
  • Competence using digital job management, reporting, health and safety and customer relationship systems
  • IICRC WRT & IICRC TSCT certification, First Aid Level 1, Site Safe Construction Passport or the ability to complete these within 3 months of commencing employment
  • Current Hepatitis A, B and Tetanus immunisations
  • Full New Zealand driver licence (or overseas equivalent), or the ability to obtain and maintain one as required for the role
