Job summary

Pacific Doors, part of ASSA ABLOY, seeks a Project Coordinator in Wellington or Auckland to own major commercial construction projects from handover to completion, coordinating clients, site teams, and manufacturing.

You will review plans, manage documentation in Syteline ERP, and ensure delivery targets are met with a focus on accuracy and proactive issue resolution.

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial construction, ideally with Tier 1 or 2 contractors.
• On-site experience and ability to work with contractors and internal teams.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specs and schedules.
• Strong understanding of contract administration and project coordination.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Practical, solutions-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of assigned projects from handover to completion.
• Review plans, specs and schedules and convert them into accurate DSOFs.
• Coordinate client approvals, variations and contract instructions.
• Manage sales orders, drawings and documentation within ERP.
• Proactively manage changes and minimise non-order changes.
• Liaise with internal teams to meet program and delivery requirements.
• Attend site meetings and site visits to resolve technical or delivery issues.
• Maintain accurate project records and meet contractual response timeframes.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with clients and internal stakeholders.

Project Coordinator – Pacific Doors (Wellington or Auckland)

Take ownership of major commercial construction projects with Pacific Door's, New Zealand’s leading manufacturer of fire rated and performance door solutions, supplying commercial construction companies, government agencies, and major commercial and infrastructure projects nationwide.

Due to continued growth in major commercial projects, they are seeking a Project Coordinator to join their team and take ownership of high value construction projects.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Business Unit Manager , you will manage allocated projects from contract handover through to completion. You will be the key coordination point between clients, site teams, internal departments, and manufacturing; ensuring scope, documentation, program, and delivery requirements are met.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Take ownership of assigned projects from handover to completion
• Review plans, specifications, and schedules and convert them into accurate Door Set Order Forms (DSOFs)
• Coordinate client approvals, variations, and contract instructions
• Manage sales orders, drawings, and documentation within Syteline (or similar ERP)
• Proactively manage changes and minimise non-order changes (NOCs)
• Liaise with internal teams to meet program and delivery requirements
• Attend site meetings and site visits to resolve technical, coordination, or delivery issues if required
• Maintain accurate project records and meet contractual response timeframes
• Communicate clearly and professionally with clients and internal stakeholders

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

You may already be working as a Project Coordinator, Contracts Administrator, Project Engineer, Site Engineer or Quantity Surveyor and are looking for a role where you can take greater ownership of projects.

• Experience in the commercial construction industry, ideally with Tier 1 or 2 commercial construction companies
• On-site experience and confidence in dealing with contractors, consultants, and internal teams
• Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and schedules to identify problems and opportunities at the earliest stage.
• Sound understanding of contract administration and project coordination
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• A practical, solutions focused approach
• Competency with Microsoft Office; Syteline or similar ERP experience
