Puna Komaru Solar Farm & Wairua Power Station Upgrade

Whangārei | Full Time; Fixed Term (8months)

Build renewable energy assets that make a difference.

At Northpower Renewables, we're developing the next generation of community-owned renewable energy infrastructure. Northpower is 100% owned by the Northpower Electric Power Trust on behalf of local electricity consumers, meaning the value created by our investments stays local and benefits the communities we serve.

From utility-scale solar generation to hydro power, we're delivering projects that will help power Northland's future for generations to come.

We're looking for a highly organised and proactive Project Administrator to support the delivery of two landmark renewable energy projects:

  • Puna Komaru Solar Farm – one of Northland's largest solar developments.
  • Wairua Power Station Upgrade – a once-in-a-generation hydroelectric refurbishment project that will secure renewable generation for decades to come.
  • This is a hand on, site based opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers, project managers and renewable energy specialists while playing a critical role in keeping complex projects organised, connected and on track for success.
What you'll be doing

You'll be the administrative hub of our project teams, supporting project delivery through:

  • Coordinating meetings, workshops and project activities.
  • Preparing reports, presentations, meeting minutes and governance documentation.
  • Helping maintain project systems, controls and reporting requirements.
  • Maintaining project records, registers and document control systems.
  • Supporting procurement, purchase orders, invoicing and contract administration.
  • Assisting with project cost tracking and financial administration.
  • Coordinating contractor onboarding, inductions and project mobilisations.
  • Supporting stakeholder engagement activities, site visits and project events.
What you'll bring

We're looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced project environment and enjoys bringing order to complexity.

You'll ideally have:

  • Experience in project administration, coordination or executive support.
  • Strong organisation and planning skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Experience using online procurement, invoice processing and financial systems.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A collaborative approach and a willingness to support a high-performing team.
Bonus points if you have:
  • Experience supporting infrastructure, construction, engineering or energy projects.
  • Experience with construction management platforms such as Procore (preferred but not essential).
  • Experience with document control systems and project reporting.
  • Exposure to contract administration and project cost management processes.
  • Work on some of Northland's most significant renewable energy projects.
  • Be part of a community-owned organisation creating lasting local benefits.
  • Gain exposure to major infrastructure and renewable energy developments.
  • Join a passionate and experienced team committed to safety, sustainability and delivery excellence.
  • Contribute to projects that will generate clean energy for future generations.

Help build Northland's renewable future.
If you're an organised, proactive and detail-oriented administrator looking for an opportunity to support meaningful projects, we'd love to hear from you.
New Zealand work rights are required for the role.
Pre-employment checks will include a criminal history check, drug and alcohol testing, and a medical assessment.
