Asia New Zealand Foundation Te Whītau Tūhono is seeking a proactive coordinator for the Leadership Network programme. The role focuses on planning, logistics and organisation, coordinating activities and delegations in New Zealand and offshore, tracking engagement and providing secretariat support to the Advisory Board.

The successful candidate will help develop and deliver programme content, ensure activities are well planned and delivered to a high standard, and work closely with colleagues

Qualifications

  • Solid and demonstrated project coordination/administration experience; excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work on several projects at once and deliver to deadlines.
  • Self-starter, with strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Experience in a similar role, and/or a qualification would be advantageous.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • An interest in Asia and New Zealand’s relationships across Asia.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate day-to-day Leadership Network activities and initiatives.
  • Plan, logistics and organisation of events and delegations in New Zealand and offshore.
  • Track member engagement and provide secretariat support to the Leadership Network Advisory Board.
  • Support development and delivery of programme content and ensure activities are well planned, organised and delivered to a high standard.
  • Collaborate across the organisation to ensure processes are efficient.

Who we are

Founded in 1994, the Asia New Zealand Foundation Te Whītau Tūhono is a non-profit, non-partisan organisation that builds New Zealanders’ knowledge, connections and capability in Asia. The Foundation has a large network of contacts across New Zealand and Asia, working with people and organisations in business, academia, government, education, media, sport, the arts and civil society.

The Foundation runs eight programmes: arts, track II diplomacy, business, entrepreneurship, research, media, sports and leadership. Its work is supported by the New Zealand Government and philanthropic partners.

The role

The Asia New Zealand Foundation Te Whītau Tūhono is seeking someone for the day-to-day coordination of its Leadership Network programme which supports the next generation of New Zealand leaders to engage confidently and effectively in and with Asia. This is achieved by equipping members with the knowledge, connections and leadership skills they need to excel. The Network began in 2006 and has grown to more than 550 members. The intake is primarily graduate and early-to-mid-career New Zealanders, drawn from a very broad range of professions and sectors. It is an initiative that works across the Asia New Zealand Foundation’s eight programmes and includes a range of activities and outreach direct to the Network.

This position is responsible for the day-to-day coordination of the Leadership Network programme, with a strong focus on planning, logistics and organisation. The role coordinates Leadership Network activities and initiatives, manages event and delegation logistics both in New Zealand and offshore, tracks member engagement, and provides secretariat support to the Leadership Network Advisory Board. The position also supports the development and delivery of programme content and ensures activities are well planned, organised and delivered to a high standard.

This is a pro-active, hands-on role that requires a process-oriented and methodical approach, broad communication skills, and frequent collaboration with others in the organisation.
