Job summary

Linde plc is seeking an experienced Operations Leader to run our Bottle Swap Filling and Testing Plant in the Auckland region. You will lead a large operational team, coordinate daily production, and partner with engineering and maintenance to keep equipment performing at its best.

You will drive safety culture, manage hazards in a Major Hazard Facility environment, implement Lean and continuous improvement, and ensure regulatory compliance while delivering customer-focused results.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience in manufacturing or industrial operations.
• Strong health, safety and risk management knowledge in high-risk environments.
• Experience implementing Lean, Six Sigma or continuous improvement.
• Excellent planning, problem-solving and organisational skills.
• Practical, people-focused leadership across all levels.
• Experience in Major Hazard Facility, LPG, industrial gases, or hazardous substances is advantageous.

Job description

Be part of a team that powers communities – supporting daily operations at a Major Hazard Facility (MHF), where you’ll coordinate the day-to-day activities of our Bottle Swap Plant.

What you will enjoy doing

• Lead the safe and efficient operation of our Bottle Swap Filling and Testing Plant
• Drive a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with MHF, hazardous substances, and site requirements
• Planning production to meet customer demand, operational targets and keep things running efficiently
• Working closely with engineering and maintenance teams to schedule and execute maintenance keep equipment performing at its best
• Identify safety and productivity improvement projects and work closely with engineering teams to design and execute them
• Manage inventory and stock control ensuring regulatory requirements are met
• Lead, mentor and develop a large operational team to deliver strong performance outcomes
• Building a positive culture where people feel supported, accountable, and empowered to do their best work

What makes you great

• Proven leadership experience within manufacturing, FMCG, industrial processing, logistics, or a similar operational environment
• Experience in a maintenance or engineering/technical role would be advantageous
• Strong understanding of health, safety, and risk management within high-risk or regulated environments
• Experience implementing Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies
• Strong planning, problem-solving, and organisational skills
• A practical, down-to-earth leadership style and the ability to connect with people at all levels
• Experience working within a Major Hazard Facility, LPG, industrial gases, or hazardous substances environment would be advantageous
