Responsibilities

Position Overview

Jerry Kitchen & Bath Limited is seeking an experienced Production Manager to plan, organise, direct, control, and coordinate the company’s manufacturing operations for customised kitchen, bathroom, cabinetry, benchtop, and related interior products.

The successful candidate will be responsible for production planning and scheduling, workshop resources, labour allocation, machinery and equipment utilisation, material flow, quality control, production efficiency, and coordination between design, sales, measurement, procurement, manufacturing, and installation teams.

This role is central to ensuring that customer orders and project requirements are manufactured accurately, efficiently, safely, within required quality standards, and in accordance with production and installation deadlines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, organise, direct, control, and coordinate the company’s manufacturing operations for customised kitchen, bathroom, cabinetry, benchtop, and related interior products.
  • Develop and manage production plans and schedules based on customer orders, project requirements, quality standards, delivery deadlines, labour availability, and installation programmes.
  • Allocate and coordinate production staff, machinery, workshop capacity, materials, tools, and other resources to achieve production targets efficiently.
  • Direct and supervise cabinet makers, workshop staff, and other production personnel, including allocating work and monitoring productivity and performance.
  • Coordinate with design, measurement, sales, procurement, and installation teams to ensure drawings, specifications, measurements, and customer requirements are accurately translated into production.
  • Monitor production output, manufacturing costs, labour productivity, material usage, and workflow efficiency, and adjust processes and resources where required.
  • Establish and monitor production standards, quality control procedures, inspection processes, and corrective actions to ensure products meet required specifications and quality standards.
  • Plan and coordinate the utilisation and maintenance requirements of production machinery and workshop equipment, and assess requirements for equipment upgrades or replacement.
  • Coordinate production material requirements and inventory availability, while monitoring material usage, wastage, and supply requirements.
  • Identify and resolve production delays, equipment issues, resource shortages, rework risks, and workflow bottlenecks.
  • Review production methods and manufacturing processes and implement practical improvements to enhance productivity, quality, resource utilisation, and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure production activities comply with workplace health and safety requirements, maintain appropriate production records, and provide regular production reports and operational updates to management.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in Manufacturing, Production Management, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering, Operations Management, , or another field relevant to manufacturing operations; OR
  • At least five years of relevant experience in manufacturing, production management, or operations management role.

You should also have:

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing planning, production scheduling, workflow control, labour coordination, resource allocation, material management, and quality control.
  • Experience in kitchen, bathroom, cabinetry, joinery, interiors, furniture, building products, or customised manufacturing would be highly advantageous.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage production staff, coordinate teams, allocate work, and maintain productivity under deadlines.
  • Good knowledge of machinery, workshop equipment, production processes, material usage, and manufacturing safety requirements.
  • Strong problem-solving, organisational, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, production scheduling tools, inventory systems, CAD/CAM-related workflow systems, or similar software would be an advantage.
