Job summary

Foodstuffs South Island Limited, operating PAK’nSAVE Rangiora, is seeking a Produce Assistant Manager (2IC) to support the Produce Manager in the day-to-day running of the department, with a focus on freshness, quality and presentation.

You will lead and develop the team, manage stock, pricing and customer service, and help achieve financial targets while maintaining safety standards. This is a full‑time on‑site role in North Canterbury, NZ.

Qualifications

• Retail experience, preferably in Fresh Foods or Produce.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Confident in leading and developing a team.
• KPI and performance driven.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily operations to ensure quality, availability and presentation.
• Lead, coach and develop the team to build a positive culture.
• Maintain food safety compliance and records.
• Support the Produce Manager to meet financial and operational targets.
• Ensure accurate pricing and signage.
• Deliver excellent customer service and shopping experience.
• Support innovation and stay ahead of competition.
