Job summary

PAK’nSAVE Rangiora is seeking a Produce Assistant Manager (2IC) to help run the Produce Department. The role focuses on delivering fresh, high-quality fruit and vegetables while sustaining strong team culture and customer service.

The candidate will support the Produce Manager in daily operations, oversee stock and pricing accuracy, and work towards KPI targets in a busy New Zealand retail environment. Full-time hours with interview-based scheduling. Applications close 27 October 2026.

PAK’nSAVE Rangiora is on the lookout for a Produce Assistant Manager (2IC) who is driven to excel in the day to day running of our Produce Department. Our Produce team thrives on delivering the freshest, highest quality fruit and vegetables to our local community, and we take pride in maintaining exceptional standards every single day. We are seeking someone with a proven track record in achieving outstanding results within a retail environment. The ideal candidate will be a confident communicator, experienced in effectively managing and motivating people, and passionate about supporting others to exceed expectations while fostering a strong and positive team culture.

What You’ll Be Doing

As Produce 2IC, you’ll support the Produce Manager in coordinating the daily operations of the department, ensuring we consistently deliver outstanding quality, availability, and presentation.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Managing stock ordering, control, and rotation to maintain excellent freshness and minimal waste
• Leading, coaching, and developing the team to build a strong, positive culture
• Maintaining food safety compliance, including daily, weekly, and monthly records
• Assisting the Produce Manager in achieving financial and operational targets, including waste management, labour control, and stock turnover
• Ensuring 100% price and signage accuracy
• Delivering excellent customer service and helping create a shopping experience that delights
• Supporting innovation and always looking for ways to stay ahead of the competition
