Job summary

New World Centre City is seeking an experienced Assistant Manager for the Produce team to ensure excellence in freshness, quality, and customer service. You will support daily operations, oversee staff development, and uphold high standards of product presentation and safety in a fast-paced grocery environment.

The role emphasizes team leadership, training, and contributing to initiatives that maximise sales and customer satisfaction.

At New World Centre City, our Produce team takes pride in delivering excellent customer experiences through quality products, great service, and a fresh, premium offer. We are now looking for an experienced Assistant Manager, who will enjoy being in Produce, to join our team and help us continue delivering the excellence New World is known for.

You’ll take pride in maintaining high standards of freshness, consistency, food safety, and customer service.

Hours

• Full-Time | 40–45 hours per week
• Fri/Sat 5:00am – 2:00pm

Tasks/Responsibilities

You’ll contribute to an excellent customer experience by:

• Supporting the Produce Manager to Assist in overseeing daily operations, inventory management, and staff development within the produce department.
• Contribute to team leadership, staff training, and enabling a culture of exceptional customer service.
• Ensuring the department’s excellence in quality, freshness and customer satisfaction, maintaining high standards of product presentation and operational efficiency.
• Support the implementation of strategic initiatives to maximise sales, profitability and competitive advantage in fresh produce offerings.
