Job summary

INTEC Energy Solutions in Auckland is seeking an experienced Procurement Engineer to establish and lead procurement capabilities for high-voltage electrical infrastructure projects. You will manage technical and commercial procurement for HV equipment, substation packages, and specialist services, aligning with project requirements.

Qualifications

• 7-10+ years' relevant experience across HV transmission, substations, electricity infrastructure or major EPC projects.
• Experience procuring HV electrical equipment and/or substation packages, ideally including 110kV/220kV infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of tendering, supplier evaluation and commercial procurement processes.
• Experience managing OEMs and suppliers through procurement, FAT, expediting, logistics and delivery.
• Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills, with a proactive and commercially aware approach.

Responsibilities

As part of this growth, INTEC has established a new electrical division specialising in high-voltage electrical infrastructure and project delivery, supporting major renewable energy and electricity infrastructure projects.

The Opportunity

The division is now establishing a permanent New Zealand operation, creating an opportunity for an experienced Procurement Engineer - Electrical Infrastructure to join the Auckland team and play a key role in establishing the procurement capability that will support the growing HV project portfolio.
Working closely with the Technical, Project, Commercial and Engineering teams, you will manage the technical and commercial procurement of HV electrical equipment, construction packages and specialist subcontract services, ensuring critical equipment and information are secured in line with project requirements.

What You'll Do

• Develop and manage procurement plans, package registers and strategies for HV and substation projects.

About You

You’ll be an experienced procurement or electrical engineering professional with strong knowledge of HV electrical infrastructure, substations and project procurement, who can work across technical, commercial and project delivery environments.

You’ll bring:

• 7-10+ years' relevant experience across HV transmission, substations, electricity infrastructure or major EPC projects.
• Demonstrated experience procuring HV electrical equipment and/or substation packages, ideally including 110kV/220kV infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of technical specifications, tendering, supplier evaluation and commercial procurement processes.
• Experience managing OEMs and suppliers through procurement, FAT, expediting, logistics and delivery.
• Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills, with a proactive and commercially aware approach.
