Job summary

INTEC Energy Solutions – Auckland, North Island, seeks an experienced Project Manager to lead HV and substation delivery in New Zealand. You will coordinate engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover, working with operations, engineering and commercial teams to keep programmes on time and within budget.

You bring 15+ years in HV or grid-connected projects, with NZ experience on 220kV assets or Transpower schemes.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of project delivery experience in HV/substations, NZ focus preferred.
• Strong NZ HV/substation experience with 220kV assets or similar.
• Experience coordinating engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning.
• Proven ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams and key stakeholders.

• Manage assigned HV and substation projects, coordinating engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover.
• Own day-to-day programme performance, project coordination, interfaces, actions, risks and delivery priorities.
• Coordinate engineering consultants, contractors, OEMs, clients and Transpower to ensure project requirements are delivered.
• Monitor project scope, cost, programme, quality and commercial performance, identifying issues and driving timely resolution.
• Support successful testing, commissioning, energisation and project close-out while maintaining high standards of HSEQ and governance.

Project Manager - High Voltage & Substations

INTEC Energy Solutions is a global EPC and O&M company delivering utility-scale solar PV, BESS and high-voltage electrical infrastructure projects across Australia and New Zealand. With a secured project pipeline exceeding 5 GW, our business continues to grow rapidly across the renewable energy and infrastructure sectors.

The Opportunity
As part of this growth, INTEC has established a new electrical division specialising in high-voltage electrical infrastructure and project delivery, supporting major renewable energy and electricity infrastructure projects.
The division is now establishing a permanent New Zealand operation, creating an opportunity for an experienced Project Manager – High Voltage & Substations to join the team in Auckland and take a leading role in the delivery of major HV and substation projects.
Working closely with the Operations Director, Technical Director – HV, engineering, procurement and commercial teams, you will coordinate the full project lifecycle from engineering and procurement through construction, commissioning and handover.

What You'll Do

• Manage assigned HV and substation projects, coordinating engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover.

About You
You’ll be an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in HV transmission, substations or grid-connected electricity infrastructure, who can confidently coordinate complex multidisciplinary projects and stakeholders.

You'll bring:

• 15+ years’ relevant project delivery experience, with strong New Zealand HV/substation experience.
• Proven experience delivering major HV or substation projects, ideally including 220kV and Transpower projects.
• Strong capability across integrated programme management, engineering coordination, procurement, construction and commissioning.
• Experience managing engineering consultants, construction contractors and other project stakeholders, with strong commercial awareness.
• Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills, with the ability to take ownership and drive delivery outcomes.
