Job summary

Hynds Pipe Systems in Auckland, New Zealand, is seeking a Procurement & Supply Specialist to coordinate purchasing, inventory and supplier performance. You’ll raise orders, chase ETAs, rebalance stock and ensure accurate systems across branches and customers.

Working with vendor teams, logistics and operations, you’ll analyse data, forecast needs and drive continuous improvement with a collaborative, detail‑driven approach.

Qualifications

• Experience in purchasing, planning or supply management.
• Comfort with pulling reports and spotting trends in data.
• High attention to detail and ability to juggle competing priorities.
• Strong communication and relationship-building across teams.

Responsibilities

• Place accurate, well-timed purchase orders and keep stock flowing.
• Chase ETAs, resolve supply hiccups and find substitutes when needed.
• Manage inventory across locations and rebalance stock as required.
• Collaborate with overseas vendors on forecasting, logistics and performance.
• Keep branches and customers informed; support S&OP, stocktakes and reconciliations.

As our Procurement & Supply Specialist, you'll sit right at the centre of procurement and inventory for Hynds Pipe Systems – the critical link between what our customers need and our ability to deliver it. It's a hands-on role: raising orders, keeping stock moving, chasing ETAs, solving supply hiccups and keeping our systems humming.

Reporting to the Procurement & Supply Team Leader, you'll work across vendor and product teams, inventory planning, operations, logistics, branches and suppliers – so strong relationships and a sharp eye for detail are everything.

What you'll be doing

• Placing accurate, well-timed purchase orders and keeping stock flowing to where it's needed
• Chasing ETAs, sorting supply hiccups and finding smart substitutes when items run short
• Managing inventory across locations – spotting trends, rebalancing stock and keeping systems accurate
• Working with overseas vendors on forecasting, logistics and supplier performance
• Keeping branches and customers in the loop, and pitching in on S&OP, stocktakes and reconciliations

What you'll bring

• Experience in a purchasing/planning or supply management role
• Confidence with systems and data – you can pull together reports and spot the story in the numbers
• Exceptionally high attention to detail and the ability to juggle competing priorities
• Strong communication and a knack for building relationships with all sorts of people
• Sound judgement, discretion and commercial nous
• A collaborative, self-motivated, results-focused approach
