Job summary

NZ Post in Palmerston North is seeking a Processing Officer on call to support our operations centre overnight, sorting, consolidating and dispatching parcels for delivery.

You’ll cover Sunday to Friday 10:00pm - 6:30am as required and must have reliable transport. This role offers learning and development opportunities, a safe work environment and the stability of a government‑owned organisation.

Qualifications

• Be detail oriented and accurate in parcel sorting and dispatch
• Good awareness of Palmerston North geography and surrounding area
• Able to sustain physical effort during heavy lifting up to 25kg

Responsibilities

• Sort, consolidate and dispatch parcels at the Manawatu Operations Centre
• Prepare parcels for courier delivery and ensure accuracy of loads
• Support on-call shifts to cover illness or peak periods and contribute to safe site practices

Our Processing Officers create the magic by sorting, consolidating and dispatching parcels and freight at our Manawatu Operations Centre, ready for our couriers to deliver. We're a lively bunch, with a diverse set of skills, but we all share one common goal - to contribute to the growth and prosperity of our beautiful Aotearoa.

On Call employees are an essential part of our business as we call on them to assist us as and when required. What We Need From You

• Be a committed teammate, keeping yourself, others and the site safe
• Energy for a physically demanding role – can you lift up to 25kgs continuously?
• An eye for detail and good geographical knowledge
• Able to cover shifts between Sunday to Friday 10:00pm - 6:30am as and when required
