Job summary

Enable New Zealand Limited is seeking an experienced Business Partner, Privacy for a 12-month fixed-term role in Palmerston North. You will advise on privacy matters, partner with leaders to embed privacy into decision-making, and strengthen governance and risk management across services and operations.

The role focuses on building organisational privacy maturity, providing practical guidance, and supporting incident resolution and privacy assessments. NZ residency or valid work visa is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in privacy, risk, compliance or governance roles.
• Knowledge of Privacy Act 2020 and related requirements.
• Experience developing or implementing privacy frameworks, policies and procedures.
• Experience investigating incidents, complaints or compliance matters.

Responsibilities

• Partner with leaders and teams to integrate privacy into strategic and operational decision-making.
• Provide trusted, practical and risk-based privacy advice.
• Influence projects, service improvements, system changes and business initiatives to consider privacy from the outset.
• Support the development of Enable New Zealand’s privacy governance and management framework.
• Monitor privacy risks, trends and emerging issues and provide clear insights and recommendations.
• Build organisational capability through coaching, education, facilitation and practical guidance.
• Support Privacy Impact Assessments and other privacy risk assessments while ensuring ownership remains with the relevant business area.
• Guide leaders and teams through the assessment and resolution of privacy incidents, requests and complaints.
• Contribute to assurance, audit, reporting and continuous improvement activities.
• Support delivery of agreed privacy priorities and the Privacy Risk Reduction Action Plan.
