Job summary

Tonkin + Taylor is seeking a Principal Water + Wastewater Engineer or Hydraulic Modeller to lead our water planning and design teams in New Zealand. You will drive network performance assessments, model development and long-term infrastructure strategies while guiding project delivery and client relationships.

Experienced leaders with strong technical skills will build capability across planning, modelling and design, and may operate from multiple NZ offices including Nelson.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil, Environmental, Water Engineering or related field.
• 15 years' water/wastewater design experience for Principal Engineer or 5+ years for hydraulic modeller.

Responsibilities

• Lead proposals, project planning and business development.
• Lead water supply and wastewater projects from planning through design and delivery.
• Develop, run and review hydraulic network models.
• Assess network performance, capacity and resilience.
• Support growth planning and investment decisions.
• Develop network strategies and masterplans.
• Lead design for concept to detailed stages for treatment and reticulation.
• Prepare reports, calculations and technical deliverables.
• Mentor junior staff and grow water planning capability.
