Job summary

Stantec in Nelson seeks a Principal Geotechnical Engineer to lead complex geotechnical projects across transport and water sectors. You will supervise field investigations, review assessments, and design walls, foundations, slope stabilization, and pile systems while guiding junior staff.

You will provide expert client advice and contribute to project solutions with a strong design background and international collaboration opportunities.

Qualifications

Degree qualified Geotechnical engineer with 10 years' experience and Chartered status.
Experience in NZ, Australia or Asia Pacific is advantageous.
Strong background in design, transportation and water sectors.

Responsibilities

Plan and supervise field data collection and site investigations.
Produce calculations, reports, drawings and specifications.
Review geotechnical assessments and ensure design adequacy.
Lead and mentor junior staff and manage project inputs.
Deliver geotechnical projects on time, within budget and to quality standards.
Provide geotechnical advice to clients and project teams.
