Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Principal Structural Engineer to lead the structural design of transport and water infrastructure projects across New Zealand. The role involves technical leadership, project delivery, and mentorship within a collaborative, global engineering practice.

The successful candidate will have CPEng Chartered status with 10+ years of consulting experience, and a strong background in water or transportation facilities, pump stations, and retention structures.

Qualifications

• CPEng Chartered structural engineer with at least 10 years in consulting.
• Experience in water and/or transportation infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of multi-disciplinary design and project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Plan, manage and deliver detailed structural designs for transport and water infrastructure.
• Provide technical leadership across the Structural Discipline.
• Lead design and construct project delivery methods.
• Prepare technical reports including structural assessments and asset management plans.
• Provide construction supervision support as required.
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure timely, cost-efficient delivery.
• Mentor and develop junior team members.
