Job summary

Acot Precision Engineering Pte Ltd in Queenstown, NZ, seeks a QC Inspector to perform incoming, in-process, and outgoing inspections of precision-machined parts, ensuring compliance with engineering drawings, BOMs, and ISO/QMS standards.

You will read 2D/3D drawings, GD&T, and reference metrology tools, operate CMMs or SmartScope as required, generate NCRs for non-conformances, maintain calibration records, and uphold 5S and cleanroom protocols.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years hands-on QC in precision engineering, aerospace, semiconductor or metal fabrication.
• Able to read and interpret 2D/3D drawings, BOMs, and GD&T specifications.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 / AS9100 quality standards or ESD safety procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform incoming, in-process, and outgoing QC inspections on precision‑machined parts.

• Operate precision measuring instruments (vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, projectors, microscopes).

• Maintain inspection records, calibration logs, and data per QMS procedures.
• Adhere to 5S and cleanroom protocols and workplace safety guidelines.

About the role

Perform incoming, in-process, and outgoing quality control inspections on precision-machined parts to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, customer specifications, and ISO/QMS standards.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct visual, dimensional, and first-article inspections on raw materials, in-process components, and finished assemblies.
• Interpret 2D/3D engineering drawings, bill of materials (BOM), and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) specifications.
• Operate standard precision measuring instruments including vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, profile projectors, and microscopes.
• Run or program Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and automated optical inspection equipment where applicable.
• Identify defect trends, issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCR), and liaise with production engineers to support root cause analysis.
• Maintain accurate inspection records, calibration logs, and test data in compliance with company QMS procedures.
• Adhere to 5S housekeeping principles, cleanroom protocols, and workplace safety guidelines.

About you

• NITEC, Higher NITEC, or Diploma in Mechanical, Precision, or Mechatronics Engineering.
• 1–3 years of hands‑on QC experience within precision engineering, aerospace, semiconductor, or metal fabrication environments.
• Strong proficiency in reading technical blueprints, GD&T callouts, and manual metrology tool setup.
• Basic competence in Microsoft Excel and Word for data entry and documentation.
• High visual accuracy, meticulous attention to detail, and ability to work independently or perform shift work if required.
• Experience operating or programming CMM software (e.g., Mitutoyo, Zeiss) or SmartScope equipment (preferred).
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 / AS9100 quality standards or ESD safety procedures (preferred).
