Job summary

Acot Precision Engineering Pte Ltd in Queenstown, New Zealand is seeking a Project Engineer to plan, design and execute mechanical engineering projects. You will collaborate across disciplines to deliver high‑quality solutions meeting client needs and contributing to overall project success.

This entry‑level role offers hands‑on training with ERP systems, SolidWorks, BOM management, and close cooperation with Production, Purchasing and Quality teams in a fast‑paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Entry-level or relevant working experience considered.
  • Knowledge of SolidWorks is an advantage; training can be provided.
  • Good communication and coordination skills; you are a team player.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist planning and coordination of engineering projects from start to finish.
  • Monitor schedules, budgets, and quality to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Coordinate with clients, suppliers, and internal teams for smooth execution.
  • Prepare project documents, technical reports, drawings and BOM.
  • Collaborate with Production, Purchasing and Quality to ensure material readiness.
  • Update progress using project management software (e.g., ERP).
  • Support improvement and standardization of production and engineering processes.
  • Assist with assembly, testing and functional checks.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, ISO standards and procedures.
  • Provide technical support for project-related issues.

About the role

As a Project Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the design, planning, and execution of engineering projects across mechanical disciplines. This position is strategically important to our organization, as you will be instrumental in delivering high-quality solutions that meet our clients' needs and contribute to the success of our engineering operations.

Key responsibilities
  • Assist in planning and coordinating engineering projects from start to completion.
  • Monitor project schedules to ensure work is completed on time, within budget, and meets quality standards.
  • Coordinate with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Prepare and maintain project documents, technical reports, drawings, and Bill of Materials (BOM).
  • Work closely with the Production, Purchasing, and Quality teams to ensure materials are available for projects.
  • Update project progress and maintain records using project management software (e.g. ERP).
  • Support the improvement and standardization of production and engineering processes.
  • Assist with assembly, testing, functional checks.
  • Ensure all work complies with safety regulations, ISO standards, and company procedures.
  • Provide technical support and assist in resolving project-related issues when required.
About you
  • Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Entry level or relevant working experience may be considered based on their skills and experience.
  • Knowledge of Solidworks is an advantage and Training can be provided.
  • Good communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work well in a team.
  • Responsible, willing to learn, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
