Job summary

Acot Precision Engineering Pte Ltd is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist/Setter for a full-time role in Queenstown Central Region, NZ. You will set up, program and operate CNC machines to produce precision components, reading technical drawings and maintaining quality standards.

The role requires attention to detail, problem-solving, and the ability to work independently or in a team, with flexible hours and a focus on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a CNC machinist or in a similar precision engineering role.
  • Strong proficiency in CNC machine operation, programming and setup.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering specifications accurately.
  • Sound knowledge of machining techniques, tools, materials and cutting practices.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing work to tight tolerances.
  • Problem-solving abilities and capacity to troubleshoot machine issues independently.
  • Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Relevant qualifications or certifications in CNC machining (preferred).
  • Experience with CAD/CAM software (advantageous).

Responsibilities

  • Set up and programme CNC machines according to technical drawings and specifications.
  • Operate CNC machinery safely and efficiently to manufacture precision components.
  • Monitor machine operations and make adjustments to ensure production quality and accuracy.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC equipment to minimise downtime.
  • Inspect finished components against technical specifications and quality standards.
  • Maintain detailed records of production runs, tooling changes, and machine performance.
  • Collaborate with the production team to meet deadlines and production targets.
  • Comply with health and safety regulations and workplace procedures.
  • Suggest improvements to machining processes and efficiency.

About the role
