• Conduct first-off inspections including dimensional checks against drawings.
• Inspect valves, fittings and components for cleanliness and finish quality.
• Assist with assembly, despatch and light manufacturing duties as required.
• Support production and engineering teams with a continuous improvement mindset and quality culture.

Integrated Hydraulics Ltd is seeking an experienced Production Quality Inspector to join our manufacturing team in Hornby, Christchurch.

Our core business is the design and manufacture of custom hydraulic control manifolds. We also offer a wide range of precision machining services which is where our current growth lies. As a Production Quality Inspector, you will play a key role in ensuring our products consistently meet customer specifications and quality standards. Working closely with our production and engineering teams, you will be responsible for inspecting finished components, maintaining accurate quality records, and supporting quality-focused manufacturing processes.

Key responsibilities

• Perform manual finishing operations on machined components, including burr removal using files, knives, drills and other hand tools.
• Visually inspect finished components against specifications, drawings and quality requirements.
• Complete quality inspection reports accurately.
• Conduct first-off inspections including dimensional checks against technical drawings and hydraulic circuit specifications.
• Inspect valves, fittings and components to ensure cleanliness, finish quality and compliance with required standards.
• Assist with assembly, despatch and other light manufacturing duties as required.
• Assist the production and engineering teams as required, always displaying a commitment to continuous improvement and maintaining a strong quality-focused culture.

To be successful in the role, you will:

• Be mechanically minded with a strong attention to detail.
• Have experience using precision measuring equipment and gauges, including micrometers, digital verniers, thread gauges and go/no-go gauges.
• Be able to read, interpret, and follow technical drawings and specifications.
• Demonstrate a proactive and self-motivated approach to work.
• Be a reliable team player with strong communication skills.
• Have previous experience in a production quality inspection or manufacturing environment.
• A strong commitment to workplace health and safety is essential. All tasks must be performed with a high level of safety awareness and adherence to company procedures.
