Job summary

Douglas B Foote Ltd in New Zealand is seeking a Quality Inspector & Dispatch Coordinator to oversee incoming material inspection, final product checks and packaging for dispatch. The role combines quality control with warehousing duties in a precision engineering environment.

You will be detailed, organized and proficient with scanning and electronic filing, with experience reading engineering drawings or using measuring equipment preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in quality inspection or dispatch within manufacturing preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings or use measuring equipment is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming raw materials against purchase orders and specifications.
• Check material grade, dimensions, quantity, condition and certification.

• Scan and file material certificates and other quality control documentation.

Quality Inspector & Dispatch Coordinator

Douglas B Foote Ltd is looking for a practical, detail-focused person to take responsibility for a key quality-control function within our manufacturing operation. This position covers the inspection and traceability of raw materials coming into the business and the final inspection, packaging and dispatch of manufactured components before they leave our factory.

Key responsibilities

Inspecting incoming raw materials against purchase orders and specifications.

Checking material grade, dimensions, quantity, condition and certification.

Marking and identifying raw material to maintain traceability.

Receipting accepted raw material into the company system.

Scanning and filing material certificates and other quality control documentation.

Completing final quality checks on manufactured parts against drawings, specifications and work orders.

Checking that required inspection records, identification and customer documentation are complete.

Packaging precision manufactured parts appropriately for transport.

Checking quantities, paperwork and certification before dispatch.

Preparing orders for customer collection, courier or freight.

About you

You will be someone who takes pride in getting the details right. You need to be organised, methodical and comfortable taking responsibility for ensuring that material and finished product meet requirements before they move to the next stage.

Strong attention to detail.

Reliable and well organised.

Confident using computers, scanning and electronic filing systems.

Able to follow drawings, specifications, procedures and documented requirements.

Comfortable raising a concern if something does not look right.

Manufacturing, engineering, stores, quality inspection or dispatch experience would be an advantage.

Experience reading engineering drawings or using measuring equipment would be beneficial.
