Qualifications

• Demonstrated Pre-Press experience.
• Proficiency with Adobe and Microsoft Office.
• Computer literate and quick learner.
• Experience with Fiery Command Workstation preferred.
• Experience with Ricoh or similar digital presses ideal.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Check artwork files for print readiness.
• Provide artwork proofs to clients.
• Order plates, foil blocks and die-cutters.
• Typeset and update layouts to client files.
• Impose files for digital and offset print.
• Perform QA on digital files and offset plates.
• Operate the digital press and laminator.
• Colour management and problem solving.
• Prepare job bags and handle client/supplier inquiries.
• Assist with packing and dispatch as needed.

Position overview

We are seeking an organised and detail orientated person to join our team as a Pre-press Mac operator and Digital Printer.

This position will have some flexibility in regards to hours of work. So could suit somebody who for example; needs to organise life around school hours. Potential room for hours to increase if the hired applicant is capable of diversifying the role and taking on further responsibilities.

Your main responsibilities and duties will include

• Check supplied artwork files from clients to ensure print readiness
• Provide artwork proofs to clients
• Purchase ordering of plates, foil blocks and die-cutters
• Typesetting, layout and artwork updates to customer files
• Imposition of files for digital & offset print
• Perform QA Procedures for digital files and offset plates
• Operating the digital press & laminator
• Colour managing and problem solving
• Preparing job bags
• Handling phone and email enquires with clients and suppliers
• Occasionally assisting with packing and dispatch

Your skillset will include

• Demonstrated Pre-Press experience.
• Thorough Knowledge of Adobe and Microsoft Office software
• Be computer literate and able to easily learn new systems.
• Experience with Fiery Command Workstation is highly preferred.
• Experience working on Ricoh or similar digital presses would be ideal.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

You will need to be able to work well as part of a team, take instruction well, and have a great attitude and excellent work ethic. You will need to be able to multi task and reprioritize work quickly, and without hesitation. You will also need to be quality conscious, with extremely high standards, have an eye for detail and the ability to work under pressure.

We are more than willing to train/retrain the right person, so that you understand the demands and standards of our business. Most importantly, we require you to have great enthusiasm and passion for the print industry, and the desire to produce innovative and unseen work. You will need to be mindful though, of following the procedures and processes that come with this role.

Remuneration will be negotiable depending on experience and will be discussed at interview.
